Celebrate the Savior
Who doesn’t love the Christmas season? I am sure there may be a few but we love it. Our family celebrates Christ every Christmas and this year I thought I would share with you a few of our traditions. Our family does not go crazy with decorations and parties and presents. It’s all about Jesus.
We do have a tree, we do have lights and we do buy & give gifts. I’d like you to know that up front. Yes, we also understand that Christmas traditions were made by many groups of different beliefs. This is not the place for debates on Christmas. Here, we would like to share what we do and why we do it. I have a series of videos on what we do over at my YouTube channel if you would like to watch over there.
How to you celebrate Christmas? Do you go BIG or keep it simple? What is your favorite thing about this time of year? We each have something we love, what is yours?
JESUS IS THE REASON
We will see & hear this so many times this month. If you stop and think about it, it is right. It is because of Jesus we celebrate Christmas. It is his birth we remember. Do you bring Jesus into your Christmas celebrating? Share with us what you do. I love to know!!
Creating Children’s Memories
You may have heard of Elf on the Shelf? Parents hid the elf around the house on the days up to Christmas. Each day he is caught doing something naughty. Well, in our home we have a Fisher Price manger toy we use instead. Each day in December we hide Mary & Joseph as they travel to Bethlehem. It is a fun tradition that brings happy memories to our children. The first day is always the same. I lay out my bible and open it to Luke 2. I place Mary, Joseph & the donkey near it. They begin their travels and continue throughout the month.
More to Come
I will share more in future posts here on my blog. I hope your month is filled with happiness and joy and Christ.
